Meet Nikki Powers, the woman behind Miami based wellness brand Nourish & Refine. Nikki truly embodies an entrepreneurial spirit – from hand selecting the very best organic ingredients for her products, to teaching Yoga to stressed out working professionals, to getting her line in stores across the country, Nikki is a GIRL BOSS. What inspired you to create Nourish & Refine?
My yoga practice over the last two decades certainly shaped the way I have lived my adult life one one of the key reasons behind founding Nourish & Refine in 2017. I have spent the last decade sharing yoga and self-care practices with my students and saw the creation of Nourish & Refine as the perfect bridge between yoga and self-care. The business has changed a lot over eight years, especially through the global pandemic, but it has been an incredible journey.

What is the best advice that you have received about running your own business?
Perseverance is key. The advice I received on perseverance has been critical to my success in creating Nourish & Refine and completing an MBA. I believe it is important to have a vision and continue to work towards it, especially on days that you feel incredibly challenged. You have to keep pushing through barriers and learn from your mistakes. Each day is a new opportunity to start again. Continue to refine how you run your business or work in your role, bring a positive attitude to each interaction, and have an open perspective on how you view each situation.
What has been the most rewarding part of being a business owner?
Running your own business presents a few opportunities where you can sit back and see what you have created. I find myself in these moments of reflection after working a pop up where I had a wonderful day, full of genuine and engaging conversations with my clients. I get to know them on a deeper level, discover their needs, and help them on a deeper level. This is the most rewarding and fulfilling part of owning my own business.
In the world of skincare, how does Nourish & Refine stand out amongst the crowd?
I am incredibly proud of formulating our products and making them by hand. I have refined the sourcing of our ingredients over the past few years to include only the very best organic and completely natural plant oils, hydrosols, and essential oils. Each product is made with five or fewer 100% natural ingredients, free from fillers and chemicals. We truly make it easy for you to feel confident about what you put on your skin and promise your skin will love you for it.
If you were stranded on an island, what Nourish & Refine product would you bring with you?
I would bring our Pure White Rosewater, hands down, it is a miracle elixir! Our Pure White Rosewater is made from the petals of white roses, which creates a soft and beautiful scent. It is ideal for travel and being stranded on an island because it balances the skin’s natural pH, soaks up excess oils and has countless anti-inflammatory properties to soothe skin and treat sunburn. It is my tried-and-true because it keeps my skin well-balanced and hydrated, even in the harshest weather.
