When we talk about self-care these days, what comes to mind? We want to find ways to make ourselves happy. Well, the amazing thing about “self-care” is that it doesn’t necessarily needs an exact definition. Self-care is essentially, taking an active role in protecting one's own well-being and happiness.  Whether that is taking a bath after a long day with one of our luxurious aromatherapy bath salts, cooking and watching a new movie, or reading the latest book from Oprah’s book list while lighting one of our luxury candles, self-care is all about doing what makes you happy. Acknowledge when you need a break from the chaos, close the laptop down, and restore your mind, body, and soul with these ways to indulge in self-care.

Meditate with Headspace

Headspace has become one of the best apps to come to the market and has certainly helped our 2020 experience in so many ways. Started by Andy Puddicombe, a sports science major turned Buddhist monk, Andy traveled all around the world for 10 years studying the importance of meditation. When he came back from his travels, his goal was to teach meditation and mindfulness to as many people as possible, and thus Headspace was born. With everything from guided meditations, articles, videos, and animations to help you sleep, meditate, relax, and breathe easier, this app is a must-have in our self-care routine, 2020 aside. We suggest trying the app before going about your day. Wake up, stretch a little, and light our Luxury candle, we guarantee you’ll be breathing in positivity and exhaling out negativity for rest of your day.

Draw a Bath

After a long day at work, whether you’re in the office or working from home, taking a bath can be the ultimate stress reliever. Draw a warm bath, add our Lavender Aromatherapy Bath Salts, and light our Siena Hand Poured Soy Candle to set the mood. We love this year-round staple candle for its soft citrus scent of blood orange and champagne, because it’s soothing and uplifting. We like to add either a book or one of our guilty pleasure magazines, some soothing music (try the new Sam Smith or Aloe Blacc albums) and top it off with a nice glass of wine. Dim the lights, and you have yourself the ultimate spa-like self-care experience, in the comfort of your own home.
